This program awards seed funding and support from the Office of the Vice President for Research for new, early-stage research partnerships. Partners explore transformative, interdisciplinary ideas. Dr. Leisl Carr Childers is launching a program to link on- and off-campus partners through their public lands research.


2018 Outstanding Public History Project Award, Honorable Mention

Dr. Sarah Payne was awarded the National Council on Public History's honorable mention for Outstanding Public History Project for her work on "Confinement in the Land of Enchantment: Japanese Americans in New Mexico During World War II." This innovative digital project recovers the history of Japanese American confinement sites in the southwest, communicating their stories through an interactive web map.


2016-2020 Programs of Research and Scholarly Excellence (PRSE) Designee

Support and funding provided by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Colorado State University. Programs are awarded the Programs of Research and Scholarly Excellence designation because they have achieved great distinction and set a standard for excellence in research, teaching and service that may serve as a model for programs throughout the institution and externally. PRSE designation provides enhanced visibility and enables advocacy in the context of the larger research and training missions of CSU.

2012 CESU National Network Award

The PLHC received the 2012 CESU Network National Award in recognition for its research contributions to the CESU (Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units) Network.


2012 Rocky Mountain-CESU Student Award

PLHC researcher Nichelle Frank received this regional award for her contribution to the PLHC oral history project. She conducted this research via a CESU agreement with Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
